This project addresses the critical issue of staff burnout in Hong Kong’s non-governmental organisations (“NGO”) through a Four-step Pilot Well-being Programme. Engaging five NGOs with staff across all ranks, we will:
- Develop the first bilingual Hong Kong NGO Well-being Policy Guideline (“WPG”);
- Conduct tailored assessments and consultations;
- Provide mental health training and services;
- Evaluate and adapt content before officialising a standardised WPG.
Ultimately, the standardised WPG will serve as:
- An open-access key benchmark for the NGO sector, and
- A reference assessment tool of NGO well-being sustainability for funding bodies like private organisations and family foundations (“donors”) during due diligence processes.
