On 17th April, the HKU-UBS Sustainable and Social Innovation Leadership (SSILP) welcomed its second cohort of participants. Building on successful experiences from its inaugural year, the programme has expanded its reach to the Greater Bay Area (GBA), enhancing not only the local Hong Kong nonprofit sector but also nonprofit ecosystem in other GBA cities.
SSILP is a collaboration between UBS and the University of Hong Kong (HKU) Department of Social Work and Social Administration. This program is one of the few cross-sector training initiatives that engage private sector, nonprofit sector, and academics. Through comprehensive training and cross-sector exchange, SSILP aims to equipe current and future nonprofit leaders with essential leadership competencies, business acumen and social innovative mindset while encouraging practical applications of innovative solutions to benefit the society as a whole. As the SSILP continues to grow, the program will adapt a more sustainable structure to ensure long-term impact and success.
During the opening ceremony, Professor Amy Chow, Head of Department of Social Work and Social Administration at HKU, emphasized the importance of cross-sector collaboration and encouraged co-creation of solutions for complex societal challenges. Mr. Rob Stewart, Chief Communication Officer, Asia Pacific at UBS, highlighted the value of fostering professionalism among nonprofit leaders and driving positive changes within the community.
As the cohort 2024 embarks on their journey, they will showcase their learning and innovations by the end of September. Be sure to follow the SSILP Linkedin page to be updated on the latest news and accomplishments of the cohort 2024.
