Dr. Lu identifies as a pracademic, focusing on both academic knowledge and practical impact. On the academic front, his research interests encompass nonprofit organizations, social enterprises, ESG, impact investing, and sustainable development. In terms of practical application, Dr. Lu offers consultancy services to international NGOs(UNDP, UNICEF) and local nonprofits in mainland China and Hong Kong (CASVI, Help, CharityBox). He also teaches courses for students and practitioners at HKU, delivers guest lectures to professionals, and publishes articles and reports on various public platforms, including Sina and Caijing. He was awarded Forbes 30 Under 30 China List in 2020 for engagement in social entrepreneurship, and in 2021 he founded a nonprofit, Find Charity, to promote the ecology of philanthropy in China.
