Ming Geng has over 25 years of professional experience in global health, international development, government affairs and philanthropy.
Before joining UBS, Ming held the position of Head of Corporate Affairs at Viatris Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd, Greater China. Ming provided consulting for United National Development Programs as senior advisor. From 2007 to 2019, Ming served as the Deputy Director at Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s China office. Ming was in charge of policy advocacy, government relations and philanthropic partnerships. She oversaw multiple programs in China, including poverty alleviation, HIV/AIDS prevention and control, tobacco control, water and sanitation, agricultural development, and a body of work supporting China’s role in health and development for the African continent.
Before her time with the Gates Foundation, she spent over 10 years in leadership and management positions in global organizations, including The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition, The Yew Chung Education Foundation, and UNICEF.
Ming holds a medical degree at the University of Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences. Ming is a doctoral candidate of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
