“Hands of Heritage” is an 18-month community project that celebrates and preserves traditional Chinese pastry-making by empowering elderly women as Cultural Ambassadors. Through hands-on pastry program and structured training, these women share not only recipes, but life stories and values rooted in regional heritage. In doing so, they pass down cultural wisdom to younger generations through intergenerational workshops, creative storytelling, and public engagement while combating social isolation and financial insecurity.
The project will engage 40 senior women participants, deliver workshops to 20 schools and 10 corporate teams, and host pop-up pastry stalls at key cultural events. Their experience and training toolkit will preserve these legacies for future generations, blending tradition, dignity, and community connection.
