Boosting Band 3 Students’ Confidence to Learn English through Interactive Technology.
Bard’s Buddy is an interactive line-learning app by Shakespeare4All (S4A) designed to redress the imbalance in language learning opportunities for students from Band 3 schools and low-income families in HK by providing them with a digital interactive learning tool with youth mentoring support built-in. The app helps socially disadvantaged students learn presentations, speeches, and scripts and deliver lines in English.
Students in Band 3 schools do not have the same opportunities to learn English as their counterparts in local English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) schools or international schools. However, studies show that English proficiency is still an essential cultural /social capital for succeeding.
Emily and Max motivated me to seek a solution that would help them and others like them fulfil their dreams without limits.
