On May 31st, the SSILP team organized the annual dinner gathering for the current 2024 cohort, alumni, mentors, and committee members. Over 30 alumni from various NGOs and mentors attended the event to show their support.
Professor Cheryl Chui, the co-director of SSILP, welcomed the attendees and expressed her gratitude for everyone taking the time to attend the dinner, which provided an opportunity for potential future collaborations.
The seating arrangement ensured that the current cohort, alumni, mentors, and committee members were mixed together at each table, facilitating interactions and the exchange of news and insights. Later, a mini game was organized to engage all guests in sharing more about their current work related to different Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This exercise was an eye-opening experience for everyone to learn about the diverse social initiatives taking place in Hong Kong.
Towards the end of the dinner, Mr. Rob Stewart, Head Corporate Communications APAC from UBS and a member of the SSILP Steering Committee, thanked all the alumni again for their continuous support. He emphasized the crucial importance of NGO leaders consistently communicating with each other to tackle social problems through joint ideas and collective efforts.
The dinner event was a resounding success. The organizers look forward to welcoming the alumni again in the upcoming alumni engagement events.
