Many migrant domestic workers (MDWs) in Hong Kong turn to their peers for support when they find themselves in crisis situations such as labour rights violations, healthcare challenges, and predatory lending. This programme aims to upskill MDWs to become effective crisis first responders through Shero, an adventure storytelling game co-created with MDWs. Players practice listening, communication, and problem-solving skills through simple pen-and-paper and dice-based gameplay, followed by a debriefing module based on various scenarios and response strategies. MDWs interested in running the game for their peers can learn to become facilitators through train-the-trainer workshops, supporting a self-sustaining peer support network.
