Waves for Wellbeing (WFW) is a community-driven initiative promoting mental health and social resilience among migrant domestic workers (MDWs) and ethnic minority (EM) women in Hong Kong. WFW trains Splash’s Learn to Swim (LTS) graduates to become swim coaches, fostering confidence, social bonds, and wellbeing.
This approach also supports the scaling of Splash’s signature LTS programme, as graduates can choose to give back as coaches and empower newly enrolled MDWs and EM women by teaching them how to swim. This low-cost, sustainable approach addresses health disparities, improves mental resilience, and builds community capacity for lifelong water safety and wellness
