WhoSaysICantCoach? The Inclusive Career & Sports Revolution

This project tackles health inequality and employment exclusion among intellectually disabled (ID) individuals in Hong Kong. Despite improved education access, only 2.2% of ID adults are employed (Treats, 2021), mostly in low-skilled jobs, while 40% face insufficient physical activity, leading to chronic conditions like hypertension by age 30 (Rehabilitation Advisory Committee, 2020). Our solution introduces Hong Kong’s first ID-led Pickleball Coaching Certification, with a 30-hour adaptive curriculum, AI-assisted training (RoboCoach), and inclusive tournaments. By certifying 12 ID coaches and engaging 2000 participants, we empower ID individuals, improve health outcomes, and shift public perceptions through corporate partnerships and ESG advocacy
