The Detention-to-Defense (D2D) Nexus: A Circular Legal Ecosystem for Hong Kong

The Detention-to-Defense (D2D) Nexus is an innovative social intrapreneurship model that scales ASK’s pro bono subscription program into a self-sustaining ecosystem. By utilizing CPD-accredited public law training as a marketing funnel, D2D expands a value-based fee-for-service model where corporate law firms pay for expert case curation and legal mentorship. This project simultaneously resolves the severe legal protection vacuum for detained asylum seekers and the deficit of public interest expertise in Hong Kong. By utilizing seed funding to transition our existing framework into a robust corporate subscription pipeline, the project mobilizes private sector resources to uphold international human rights standards and elevate Hong Kong’s global legal standing.
